Under the best of circumstances, a cancer diagnosis can be frightening and devastating. Now, as the COVID-19 crisis continues, cancer patients, many who already have compromised immune systems, are more vulnerable than ever. That is why we are elevating our fight against this disease to support the American Cancer Society.
Join ACS volunteers, bivalve enthusiasts, oyster curious, and supporters as we Shuck Cancer Coast 2 Coast on Sat., Sept. 12, at 7pm EST via Zoom. (Zoom information will be shared via email in advance of the virtual event.)
Our shellebrities -- oyster sommelier Julie Qiu, nationally-ranked shucker Gardner Douglas, 2016 ICA Chef of the Year Robin Selden, and aquaculture sustainability expert Pete Malinowski -- will help guide this culinary delight for a cause.
To register:
1) Please donate a minimum of $25 for an individual participant and $40 per participating household.
**The first 25 registrants will receive a limited edition Shuck Cancer shucking knife!** Additional Shuck Cancer shucking knives are available for an additional donation of $10 each.
2) After donating, please contact Margaret Belch ([email redacted]) with a) your preferred email address to receive the Zoom event link, b) please indicate your state of residence (for ACS analytics), and c) if you ordered a Shuck Cancer shucking knife, please include your mailing address.
